Funeral services for Norma Ransom-Hobbs, 74, of Hazel Green, who went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 15, 2022 will be conducted Wednesday at 1 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike McFarlen officiating and burial will follow in the Madison Cross Roads Cemetery.
She was born April 10, 1947 to the late Hubert and Josiephine McMurtrie and was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Franklin Ransom and one sister, Patricia Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hobbs, one son, Stan Ransom and his wife, Wendy, two sisters, Faye Tillery and her husband Bobby and Bobbie Little and her husband, Hippi, two brothers, Lewis McMurtrie and his wife, Becky and Tommy McMurtrie, two step children, Brad Hobbs and his wife, Ruth and Teresa Braun and her husband, Eddie.
Norma was a devoted wife and mother who placed God and family first and foremost in her life. She took pleasure in taking care of those around her, if you laughed, she laughed, if you cried, she cried with you. She would ask strangers how they were doing then listen intently, no matter how lengthy their reply was. She enjoyed the outdoors, taking pride in her flowers, plants and bushes in the yard. She enjoyed going to the Smokey Mountains and other scenic places.
A bright light was extinguished Saturday and for all who knew her, our world became a bit dimmer. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten but we will take comfort in knowing that Heaven has gained an angel.
Visitation will be Wednesday 11 AM until 1 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home
